Missing the first speeches.
Dear David, Brandon, and Valerie,
I regret missing your first speeches, and probably your 2nd speech as well. Give me some time, I'll be back.
Keep up the great work,
~Julie

Happy Birthday Jean!
We will miss you this evening. Nobody can replace you, but we do always seem to find a way to fill in the gaps.

Sucessful Presentations Begin with the Introduction
Michelle~Thanks for introducing my speech today. It felt great to be so well introduced!
~Julie
Toastmasters.org says introductions help bring smooth transitions to our meeting. As a speaker you can write your own introduction, or leave it to the person introducing you. Either way the info conveyed to the rest of the group should include:
- Speech topic and title
- Manual and project title
- Assignment objectives
- Speaker’s personal objectives
- Delivery time

Fall Conference
Notes from Jean:Oh my goodness. The conference is just around the corner: Friday evening, October 9; Saturday all day and evening, October 10. I have my sleeping room reserved at Mahoney State Park (Thurs, Fri, and Sat). I have turned in my registration. If you turn in a full registration now or before our September 22 division contest, the cost is $60. After that the prices will escalate. You will love this conference and get a taste of a Toastmasters conference. WE will be hosting the spring conference here in Lincoln.... I will need your help on that. Of special interest to all Toastmasters: International Speech Contest Winner Jim Key will be at the conference Friday night and Saturday. You will want to be there to hear him.
I will see you all in two weeks.
Jean

Ken's Victory
I picked out a motivational poster to commerate your accomplishment.
Monday evening I went to the Area 21 and 22 speaking contests. I was proud to cheer on my father as he won the table topics contest for our area! Truely, it was one of the most creative and telling table topic answers that I have ever heard. Mark you calendars for Sept. 22nd to watch him at the division C contest. It is 7:00pm at the Madonna Rehab Center - Sheridan Rooms, 5401 South Street Lincoln, NE. This is during our regular meeting time. Next meeting we can discuss how to reconcile this time conflict.
Table Topics: A chance to test out exactly how creative you can be with the truth. Here's to you:
